PRS-650 Authorising computer

I know everyone is excited with the T1 but can a PRS650 person help me come to grips with mine please.
I have a new computer and have downloaded Adobe Digital Editions which I have used for the last year. How would I share books with my husband who has a different reader and computer? In the past I didn't have my computer authorised but I want to authorise this one so I get book jackets and stuff. I gather this is something to do with DRM.
I am not sure if there is an update for my for my firmware or, if there is, it would make a difference to my reading. I have looked at the PRS plus video but can't really see what 'plus' is all about. The video has no sound and the picture is too small for me to 'get it'. Advice most welcome.
Is there a way to get the synopsis of the book, the bit you read on the back or inside the front cover. I do get muddled with what I have or haven't read.
So help with how to get the best from the great bit of technology would be fantastic. I love it but don't understand much about it. I do only read on it.

1. Install Sony eReader Library (latest version) on both PC's.
2. Open eReader application on first PC and sign in. This will authorize your PC.
3. Download purchased eBooks to add to the eReader Library.
4. Connect first eReader (PRS-650) to your PC and authorize. Sync eBooks.
5. Repeat 1 to 4 with second PC, except sync your husband’s ereader instead.

You now have four (4) authorized devices/PC’s, I believe Sony will allow up to five (5). This will work if you and your husband use/share the same account for purchasing eBooks through the Sony eReader Store. If any of you purchase an eBook, the other can login to their PC’s and download it and sync it to their eReader.

I’m sorry but I cannot answer you other questions. Perhaps someone can jump in and help.

Thank you Mokeiko for helping me. I have found the sony e-reader for Mac on The Reader Store. I am not sure if this is a Sony Store, is that ok? When I have that software will I be able to buy books anywhere or can it only be on that site?
I still haven't found where the firmware updates come from except one for the 650 but it only for the USA and Canada and I am in the UK.
If you know anything about that can you tell me please.

Download the appropriate installer for your mac or PC. When you install the software, open the application and the Sony eBook Store will be there.

Go there to find firmware updates for your device.

You can purchase books through the eBook software. As for buying books anywhere, you probably can as long as they are in epub and PDF but most likely they will be DRM (Locked) which won't work with your readers unless there is a way to remove the DRM. Also I'm not sure how the eBook Store works if you're outside of the United States.

Sony's online store works in the US and Canada only.

As for books from other stores, as long as they are ePub or any other common format, the Sony readers can handle them. I get a lot of my books from non-Sony stores, some from the Kobo store even, and they all load nicely onto my 950. Well, they did before the thing broke anyway.
