Any news, where are you Guy's working on? How is it going, what can we expect and when? Is the issue about the source code solved? And if so, is the code for the new update or do we have to wait for that? What about market access? Will it be possible to connect to Google accounts (calendar, tasks, etc.) Thanks, Jos. |

well, personally here is what I am doing:
Working on getting vehicle fillups adding okay in my app "FillErUp". I will keep posting updates in the thread I started. if you'd like to test it out and give me some feedback (and bug reports) please have a look (not sure how to link to another thread, but the title is "New App - FillErUp"). I am also looking into writing a "Market" app. It uses a library from google code to actually access the market (https://code.google.com/p/android-market-api/), and I am putting a GUI on the front of it. I have submitted my two simplest apps to Entourage for the app store, and am working on all my others (A Recipe timer, a pet database, gedcom viewer etc...) I do not have the low level knowledge to help robot & jcase with firmware, so I am concentrating on writing apps. I want to do some digging to find out how to initiate display an ebook on the e-ink screen. I assume that a call to an intent (the android standard way) will work, and then I will look at writing an ebook library that connects with calibre on the desktop. and that's about all for now. andy. (oh, and Snepscheut, I didn't take it as a nag, I had asked after all ![]() |

Oh btw: the google market access api doesn't allow us to download apk files yet. I will be doing some more investigating of my own as soon as I get the time.

Thank you Andy.
Is the Market api needed to access data from Google Calender? (We are going to have a calendar in the new software, would be nice to sync it with the Gmail calendar ) Jos. |

The market API is just for accessing the Google Market and getting apps.
The other Google Web Based Apps (calendar, mail etc..) have their own API's, which means it sould be possible to sync the new calendar with them (as long as entourage allow us access to a eDGe calendar API. andy. |

One more question, if I may.
Do you know if robot and jcase still work for new software for the eDGe? (Are you in contact with them? ) Jos. |

I am not in contact with them (except as posts in the eDGe forums; here). I hope that they are still working on it as there are a lot of features which would be great to have.

I decide to wait for new official release first to make sure if my soft is compatible to future release and eliminate the need to make an work twice (in case if EE will fix something in kermel). In the mean time next 2 weeks will work on another projects, so have no much time to write on forum.
As for jcase, as far as i understand, he didn't feel enough demand (support) from users, so as far as I know he didn't work on EE (but probably he will change his mind in future). |

Good to hear you haven't given up the Edge! There is a lot of support here for what you're doing to promote development of the device without help (and hopefully in the future, without hostility) from Entourage. Your presence in our community has already paid dividends, so I add my appreciation to that of the others who've given it.
