Problem since Metazoa patch (I guess...)

Hi good evening everyone,

Since i updated my libra 2 kobo with the metazoa patch i think i may have a bug.

Actually I am running FW 4.3821908 (last one)

Before patching when i plugg the device to my computer (Windows 11) through USB the device asked me what i wanted to do (don't remember exactally but something like charging or access to storage...)

After patching, directly goes to charging without asking so when i start calibre it is like it doesn't recognize anymore the database and, even i can still transfer books, they are not marked anymore as already transfered...

Strange issue is also that the ebooks i trasfered before installing the patch they still keep marked as sinced with the reader in calibre, but not the new ones

Which of the patches did you enable and install? Please note the Metazoa patches are horrendously out of date now. The KoboPatch packages are what you should be using now. For firmware 4.38.21908, see the Instructions for patching firmware 4.38.21908 thread. Some of the Metazoa patches will break newer firmware in horrid fashion.

You might want to check if you have AutoUsbGadget=true set under [DeveloperSettings] in the Kobo eReader.conf file (found in the .kobo/Kobo directory in the root of the exposed storage. I use NickelMenu to toggle this setting depending on whether I want to see the Connect/Cancel popup.

You may also want to restart your Kobo to ensure the on storage and in memory databases are synchronized. If you have the KoboUtilities plugin installed, I would suggest using the Check the device database under the Database options.

If this doesn't fix your issues, you may have to do a factory reset on your Libra 2.

If you cannot see your Kobo as a drive when you plug the Kobo into the USB port, then a manual factory reset is what's needed as there's nothing else you can do.

Actually after installing all the kobo plugins for calibre and reset my Kbo device everything is back to normal...

Use Kobo Utilities to backup your database so if something like this happens, you have your database. Also use the Reading List plugin to keep track of the eBooks on your Libra 2. This way if you ever need to reset again, you can restore everything.
