Calibre 6.14.1 Slower?
Calibre 6.14.1 seems to start up slower for me on Windows 10 (ditto for opening the viewer or editor). Is anyone else seeing this? It's not a big difference, but it's noticeable (or at least I can delude myself into thinking something is noticeable). Of course, over this time frame where I've "noticed" the difference, I've also updated Windows and my graphics driver.

No slowdown on the stable version. Running from source is just as slow as ever, though.

For me, about the same as its always been… ~3-6 secs depending on which library, which is plenty fast enough for me.
As for Windows 10, if anything it's faster today than its ever been. BR |

I want to say that it used to take about 2 seconds to open. But, lately it takes about 4. Oh, the horror!

Hmmm... 1.91 seconds to start up with 14,400 books. The last time I recorded this number was 6.8.0 where it was 2.18 seconds but I think there were about 500 fewer books in the library in Nov. 2022.

Certain things like, using computed custom columns can affect startup time. So its likely you made some changes to your library structure that caused this. Easy to check by temporarily downgrading. I certainly cant think of any recent changes that could affect performance.
