Oh dear. Don't read for a bit and you end up with rather too many posts to respond to.....

Nope. Cookies are American for Biccies. Just whose language do you think it is.

I'm sure I'd be able to catch up faster if I didn't have to read so many posts talking about all the time they had to spend reading all the posts talking about the time taken to read all the posts about the ..... Okay. I'm not as drunk as a Zelda, but I admit I am thinking about as straight as an Adrian, but you get the drift.

Isn't baking soda a soft drink consumed in the kitchen whilst cooking?

I had a similar problem with a PC; the cdrom driver wasn't in the standard driver set supplied in the boot (or more accurately there was a bug in the standard boot image). Ended up getting a usb cdrom and configured the PC to boot of that. (Yes, I know I could have baked another cd-rom with the fixed drivers, but, well, I'm lazy!)

*sigh*

stupid democracy...
It just dawned on me that Pshrynk and Patrica weren't standing. Can't that be fixed.

Has anyone heard from Patricia of late?

I feel guilty, but not as guilty as I would have done had we been having local as well as Euro elections
Remember that, over the years and centuries, many have died so that you and I can vote. Whilst it is a duty, it is also a right that must be exercised. You really don't want me to start quoting Edmond Burke, now do you?

Fridge repair guy left earlier today. "Sorry, it's not economical to repair, and the design means we can't repair it." I feel I should be in Vent and Rant thread, so I shall contain myself. For a little bit. You know, build up a good head of steam (or get better half to do craft a little explosion).

I dunno if one can ever get THAT feeling back again.
'tis not just youngsters. Got overtaken by a very sporty little convertible doing, well, shall we say safely in excess of the motorway speed limit. Although I didn't see them for that long, it was driven by a silver-haired lady, with another in the passenger seat. And yes, as the sun was out, they had the top down...

The inbetween state is actually the Higgs Bosun's Chair. This slight typo explains the problems the physicists have been having trying to track it down.

Yes. As represented by the Goodwin particle.

Let us know, if you feel it is okay, what the show is. I'm sure he'll enjoy the time at the Fringe -- together with truly *vast* numbers of other people. Extremely international experience.

Excellent. As well as, or as an alternative to, meeting in the LRB tent (if we can grab a table), we could go for a meal at one of the two La P'tit Folie (appropriate name, or what?!?).
