Hmmmmmmm. From the outskirts of Chicago, I'm taking a trip next week *TO* your boring old Virginia! We've been in the Shenandoah Mts area several years (Massenutten Resort, near Harrisonburg) but this year we're going to Westmoreland Park, on the Potomac. Family gathering time -- 3 families are in PA, one in TN, and mine in IL. So Virginia seems to be sort of least amount of driving times people doing it. It's far for me, but not for the other clans.

I had a similar problem with a PC; the cdrom driver wasn't in the standard driver set supplied in the boot (or more accurately there was a bug in the standard boot image). Ended up getting a usb cdrom and configured the PC to boot of that. (Yes, I know I could have baked another cd-rom with the fixed drivers, but, well, I'm lazy!)

'tis not just youngsters. Got overtaken by a very sporty little convertible doing, well, shall we say safely in excess of the motorway speed limit. Although I didn't see them for that long, it was driven by a silver-haired lady, with another in the passenger seat. And yes, as the sun was out, they had the top down...
