Spooky!! I have just tried the link, it said $229 also, then when I hit the picture of the PRS650, I got the attached showing the lower price. I went all the way through to almost purchasing it and the same price.
Amazon have the PRS950 for $279 with no tax for me in California. Again, see the attachments.
On the Sony site the 950 is $284.
