I uninstalled 7.31 removed the Calibre Library folder. Program Files\Calibre2 was already removed. Rebooted and re-installed. Still getting an error message.

Ran 'calibre-debug -g' from prompt. Here is the result:

C:\Program Files\Calibre2>calibre-debug -g

Did a search and don't have this folder on my computer. What should I do next?

Not sure if it is a problem with python 2.7 since I have that on my computer along with pycrypto and python is working fine.

open a command prompt and run this command

calibre-debug -c "from win32com.client.gencache import Rebuild; Rebuild(True)"

hopefully that will rebuild the dicts.dat file for you correctly

Thanks so much for all your effort. Will be waiting patiently (well maybe not so patiently :-D. Patience is definitely not one of my virtues) for Friday. Think I will re-install 7.29 in the meantime.
