Portable Media Player Offered by American Airlines

It's not perfect... there's no online connection for web surfing or email, and no word about how fast the battery might run down. But even those of us with a PDA might want one for the newer content. They provide movies that have not yet made it to DVD. It's great to see portable devices with multimedia taking hold in more markets. It won't be long before such things are commonplace even to the non-geek! Each new device or service like this reminds us that there's quite a battle going on for control of content and content delivery and content control (DRM). It may seem invisible to the general public, but a multimedia market paradigm is forming right before our eyes. Let's just hope that consumers are the winners when all the dust settles. Shape Shifter (a short review)

11:32 PM by Zire in Archive | Handhelds and Smartphones
Astraware has done it again with this awesome addition to their library. When I saw screenshots of this game initially I was a bit skeptical of how much fun it would be. All in all it turned out to be alot of fun. Easy at first and very hard as you progress through the levels. There are two modes. The first mode is called beat the clock which includes bonus rounds. I like this mode better then the second mode. The bonus rounds are cool but easy once you get the hang of it. The second mode, shape speedster is to try to make rows disappear. This is harder then it sounds. If the rows go past the top it's game over. I lose pretty fast here. My favorite thing in this game are the sounds and music. They are pretty loud even on the subway. Don't know why this game and Tip Top are the only Astraware games that I need to turn the sound on. The ghaphics are cool too but I think animating the shapes would be even cooler. If you want a great addition to your games library download this and have a great time. |

eReader going down the drain?
|
|
02:34 PM by Colin Dunstan in E-Book General | Deals and Resources (No...
Well, I am actually quite happy with eReader.com. My only concern is lack of recent updates of the reading software, especially for WM2003SE Pocket PC devices. Did anyone else here on board experience trouble with eReader.com? |

FontSmoother 1.10 out!
|
|
10:14 AM by Alexander Turcic in Archive | Handhelds and Smartphones
FontSmoother decreases the "jagginess" of bitmap fonts and allows you to use smooth fonts in most applications on your OS 5 PDA (except for Tapwave and Treo 600) with Fonts4OS5 3.21 (some applications, e.g., eReader and Mobipocket do not even require Fonts4OS5!). It includes several smooth fonts and you can generate more from TrueType and Type 1 sources on your desktop with the free PalmFontConv utility. Whats' new in 1.10? - Activated for free even after expiration of trial in many Bible-type applications (still needs paid Fonts4OS5). Smooth highlighting support (in some apps). |
