Sprint Palm Treo 700p sighted again

Over at TreoCentral a user is showing off with a Sprint Palm Treo 700p holding in his hands:

This is my first post here in Treocentral, but I have been a Treo addict since the Treo 600 on Sprint's network. I was with a SRR Manager today when he pulled out a Treo 700p, the phone is great it feels a little bit lighter than the 650 and the screen also looked better, played around with it for just a few minutes, with him by my side. It's not black (bummer) but the next best thing charcoal gray, I snapped a quick picture with my Sanyo 8300, and maybe if I get to see him again next week I can get another picture. He said it should be available at the beginning of May. But I still believe on the dates that have been posted here. I didn't have time to check for total RAM, EVDO was fast and blazer was a pleasure to use. Not much But at least I got to play with one.

That's good news as I'm hoping to end up with one of these. The Sprint data plans have traditionally been much better than other US carriers in terms of price. Anyone know if the data plans are still reasonable for Sprint EVDO? How about terms of service... do they allow you to connect a laptop, or stream content?

And has anyone confirmed that these new 700p's are supposed to come with a wifi driver? (I would have loved to see a second card slot also!)

Sprint's EV-DO price is the same as their slower PCS Vision price, $15.00 unlimited. They don't disable BT DUN like Verizon does. I use my Treo 650 to get my Powerbook online. I actually used it for a week when I was switching over to cable, and used Sprint's network for hours at a time without getting dropped, or them questioning anything. Sprint is by far the best in terms of service.

I cant wait for this to be released. My macbookpro does not have a standard pcmcia slot so the treo is the only way for me to get access.

Thanks so much for the info Jimmie!!!! That's a big deal, and news that's almost too good to be true! (I could kick myself for getting my Verizon Treo 650 in such a rush before checking out the data plans.) I'd switch to a Sprint 650 right now, except that the 700p is due soon, hopefully on Sprint immediately also.

And it's a BIG deal also because a UMPC Samsung Q1 plus Treo seems like a perfect combo (like http://palmaddict.typepad.com/palmad...770_treo_.html), especially with that extended battery and the case that includes a keyboard. Seems to make for a dream setup, with bluetooth internet connection via the Treo. If it all checks out, I may just move to that this year, and not even wait for the second generation UMPC devices. With the Q1, I may even use the tablet functionality at work instead of carrying around a notepad if the battery life doesn't pursuade me against the idea.
