My Spidey sense is tingling too. This looks a bit too thin to contain built-in wifi, bt, usb AND a 4gb HD. I'll give it up to Palm if they can put all that into such a thin package but I suspect this pic is a fake.
The Sharp Zaurus SL-C3000 that has a built-in 4gb HD is quite a bit thicker than this is, though it does have a different form factor (clamshell). |

This is really nice looking. I hope that PalmOne uses such styling, but the TC2 is probably more likely? 4gigs would be phenominal too!

Sammy sent me a note that a user posted real pictures of the Life Drive. I attached them here. Fake? You decide.

Those look pretty realistic. The 5-way nav button certainly looks more useable in this configuration than in the CG version at the top of the thread. It does look like the text has been played with in the first pic, but that could have just been someone trying to enhance the crappy picture quality. If you look closely in the second you can see something like "3.7G free" at the top. Very interesting. Can't wait to know more.

Hi,
Well, if this turns out to be real, I may delay my move to get a ppc. I love my TH55 but this looks to be a real jump up if it turns out to be real. Here's hoping, David |

I think those images are fake. Look how the flash light reflects on the aluminium case. Doesn't look realistic to me!

Engadget notes the differences between the CG and these pics and adds the comment that you can almost make out the word "Tungsten" at the top...

I don't know.. they look good to me. Anyone check the photo properties to see if it's an obvious photoshop?
I like the design. I hope it's real. But even just a rumor is fun! |

I like that it has an aluminum case instead of the recent spate of PalmOne plastic cases.
I wonder that, if this is the "killer" PDA that PalmOne was developing, why it took so long to release. Do you think it was a response to our unhappiness with the T|5? Why didn't they release it as the replacement to the "power" PDA T|3 and the T|5 as the T|E2? I think that they realized that they missed most "power" users with this incremental upgrade and now they want us back. If they'd released this LifeDrive earliier, I could've replaced my T|3 with it, instead of going to the Zodiac2. As it stands now, I'm addicted to the Z2 form-factor, and now I'll be waiting to see if this PDA pushes Tapwave to respond in kind and put out their "power" PDA. POL9A |

If this LifeDrive rumor is true, and I hope it is, then I'm a little surprised they didn't go with a pair of releases...

even lifedrive's 5-way nav button look beauti, I still hit this kind of nav style.
It let me remeber my Nokia6230,it's 5-way nav button not so easy to use, especially when I put Ok . So I would like to use 4-way nav button w/ok button independ |
