iRex iLiad rumored to hit Switzerland

Our Italian friends at Simplicissimus report that iRex Technologies has signed a deal with publisher and book retailer Orell Füssli to distribute the iLiad e-reader in Switzerland. Although still unconfirmed by iRex, I'll definitely stop by Orell Füssli's main store in Zurich tomorrow and ask them for availability and price.

Without doubt iRex did a marvelous job in finding B2B and B2C partners to spread the iLiad happiness throughout the globe. I count Holland, Germany, Great Britain, Italy, Switzerland, Spain, Japan and the US among the countries with official distributors for the iLiad. Did I miss anyone?

It seems they are already listed on the iRex where to by page and the iLiad is also available from their shop at books.ch.

Thanks for the link. I was only looking at their press release page and couldn't find any indication on Orell Fuessli being the distributor in Switzerland.

OK, found the link @ books.ch: http://www.books.ch/shop/action/prod...artiId=6544336

1048 CHF is around 635 EURO.

Interestingly the official iRex store recognizes my IP as coming from Switzerland, and they offer the e-reader for 949 CHF (575 EURO) -- that's a whole 10% less!

To the point: the mere fact that a device like the iLiad will be distributed by a traditional publisher and book retailer like Orell Füssli is, in my opinion, a BIG shift.

It could have to do with the change in management @ Orell Füssli... Füssli CEO Klaus Oesch is soon going to step down (for age reason) and be replaced by Sönke Bandixen, who I think, will bring new life into the company. Them introducing the iLiad in Switzerland is a great first move indeed!
