Fictionwise not sending out notices?

I've not been receiving any promotional email from fictionwise for a couple weeks. I used to receive about 2 - 3 email a week from their marketing department.

Just wondering if they've stopped doing it or if there's something wrong with my email account..

Fictionwise has been declining for the past months. They used to be good but now they are on the decline with Amazon, Kobo, iBooks and Barnes and Noble taking over.

They used to be the best though IMO. I think the recession also had a lot to do with it.

Well, I think that and Barnes and Noble is probably putting less effort into Fictionwise and more effort into their own online efforts.

No, in this case I don't think the recession can be blamed. Barnes & Noble can.

I pretty much found myself wondering the same thing: no Fictionwise emails. Sad.

The new agency rules killed the Fictionwise business model. With the agency acting as the seller, and limiting the amount a retailer could discount a book, the micropay system became disfunctional and was discontinued. In effect, book purchases could no longer be "bundled" using micropay.

Too bad. I really liked them.

Fictionwise was having issues before the Agency thing started, that just accelerated the fall of FW into hyperdrive. They're still one of the best place to get titles from a lot of small pubs out there though.

What is very disturbing is that their Verisign certificate expired on 13th Sept, and has not yet been renewed.

I have quite a few multi-format books in my cart, but I certainly will not be making any purchases until this has been fixed.
