Email Error

Apologies if this questions has previously been answered, but I haven't been able to find a thread/FAQ addressing it...

I was trying to send a document from Calibre to my Kindle 3 via email, however I consistently receive the following error message:

++++

ERROR: Failed to email books: Failed to email the following books:

New York Magazine

Failed to send mail: SMTPServerDisconnected('Connection unexpectedly closed',)
Traceback (most recent call last):
File "site-packages/calibre/gui2/device.py", line 597, in _send_mails
File "site-packages/calibre/utils/smtp.py", line 82, in sendmail
File "site-packages/calibre/utils/smtp.py", line 74, in sendmail_direct
IOError: Failed to send mail: SMTPServerDisconnected('Connection unexpectedly closed',)

+++

I am using the latest version of calibre on a Mac OS, and can't seem to work out why this is happening. Any assistance would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you - I had set up a gmail address as the sender, but was having it sent to @free.kindle.com.

I will try this solution.

Gmail account as the sender is what he was referring to. It doesn't really care who you're sending it to as long as it is a real address.

I attached my settings in an image. If your settings are similar to mine then you might have had a bad connection or your router/firewall might not be allowing the port to pass.
