prs 500 sony ebook reader
hi, I am jacko48 just joined today,I bought a prs 500 sony reader approx 2 years ago for my wife as she loves reading,but its sat in the draw ever since as I thought I had dropped a clanger because I could not get books for it.I eventually found a few sites, Guttenberg,manybooks etc but all the books were public domain.Recently I discovered calibre ,now I can use it properly I thought ,but to no avail,every time I try to dowload calibre I dont get the welcome wizard therfore cannot tell it which device i have .If anyone could help me with this problem i would be very grateful.If anyone does know the answer could you give it to me as simply as possibe as i am by no means a computer expert

Hi jacko and welcome to MobileRead. Sorry don't know the answer to your question regarding Calibre but you might consider posting it in the Calibre section if you don't get an answer here.

If you have not gotten the epub firmware update for your 500, the new version will not work with it (as I understand things).

If you search the forums, you might be able to find out what the last version of Calibre was that worked with the original 500.
