505 keeps freezing

my wifes 505 keeps freezing and has to be reset, has happened 4 times in the last 2 days. I told her to try and read a different book and see if it still froze and that didnt help. If anyone has any ideas plz let me know

No real ideas, but if no other answers appear, you could remove books and see how that goes.

When I was forced to remove over 470 books (leaving only about seven books) when I ran into the library books problem (compatibility of DRM'd ePub and PDF), it was a pain, but then I got a much faster 505, which didn't freeze anymore. I've built the 505's library back up to about 100 now, with good performance.

That's short of formatting the internal memory.

Previous advice is a good one. I had similar errors with books when there were pictures in them (logos, anything). Removing the pictures solved the problem. So no panic, it is hopefully just incompatible books.

Agreed. To spell it out - you actually need to remove the offending book from the reader. If you uploaded a whole lot of books and don't know which one it was you might need to reformat the internal memory (see the manual or search here) which will remove all your user added data, but not affect the reader software.

You'll need to reload all your books - I'd reload the recent books one at a time or in small groups, til you work out which was the bad one.

Reformatting the internal memory every so often is a good idea in any case because it's fat32 and therefore susceptible to fragmentation, and AFAIK there's no defragmentation tools available except for reformat.
