Who is Andrew Wiley? I tried to Google him and got nothing. Is that a terribly spelled version of Andrew Wylie??

I thought that it was explained pretty clearly in the article that's linked to. It's a literary agency.

Even though the exclusive deal wasn't good for readers, the breakout idea was exciting for writers. I'm sorry to see Wylie cave so soon.

Oh, I remember reading about that deal! 20 classic books lost to me as e-books because I don't have a Kindle. I do hope this means the idea of exclusivity was abandoned.

I don't like exclusive deals, either, but I don't know that giving Random House control of the titles is going to help readers any.

Shows how out of touch with the publishing industry Engadget is. Misspelling "Wylie" repeatedly would be like spelling it "Appel" or "Hulet-Packard." Wylie's a big deal in publishing.
