Which ereader is easy on the fingers?

Hi:

I currently use a Sony PRS 505 which I really like (screen size, readability) and would not think about changing except that I read so much that my finger gets cramped from turning pages.

I'm thinking of trying the new Kindle or a Nook but I wanted to get some thoughts as to whether the new Kindle or the Nook have easier page turning abilities. My sister in law says the Nook is very sensitive for page turning, a little too sensitive for her.

Any thoughts/suggestions? Do you think I'd find the Kindle to be an improvement in page turning and not a step backwards in other ways? I'm leaning towards the Kindle from what I've read on the forums here.

Thanks.

everybody's waiting for it to be delivered. i get the sense that we'll hear A LOT about the K3 in the days to come, be it good or bad....
up till now it's been the frenzy of dates and wifi and 3G (and cables ) and shipping vs delivery. now we'll see the hands-on opinions

Well, I can't comment from direct experience with anything other than the PRS-505 and the Jetbook. That being said, if you are happy with the 505, have you thought about the 600? The touch screen might help with your issues. Another possibility is the pocketbook 360 -- I believe it can be set up to turn pages with a flick of the wrist holding the unit.

From what I seen on the Kindle 3 the buttons seem very easy to press compared to most, look up a vid...seems like it might be your best bet at a good price.

In addition to using page turn buttons, the Nook allows you to turn pages by running your finger along touchscreen. It works well. I don't really use it, but a lot of people seem to like it.

Yep thats true, I have a Nook and thats one of the things I love about it, its very easy, Just flick it softly and it works wonders. But if you need buttons the new kindle looks nice.

The new Sony Reader PRS-650 (due out later this year maybe October) will be easier on the fingers then any of the non-touch screen readers.

If the rumors are true about the upcoming PRS-650, the nook doesn't stand a chance.

I did a bit of poking around and couldn't find any rumors that made it seem more compelling than the Nook. What have you heard?

I think we need to remember that there are quite a few different reasons people buy a particular reader. At least some of it is marketing. And all due respect to Sony, I think B&N is doing a better job marketing the Nook than Sony is their readers. In addition, I think Sony needs to improve the consumer experience considerably with respect to purchasing books.

Price may also be a factor. For example, if Sony were to retain their current pricing levels, they'd struggle to compete with the likes of the nook and Kindle.
