Exchanging nook from overseas
Hi guys!
My nook recently died on me, being forever stuck at the 'Your device is starting up >>' screen. So, I currently reside in Singapore & I bought my nook via a forwarding service (Borderlinx) and now, I need to replace it. I called B&N through Skype and after putting me on hold for at least 10 min, they told me that they would be issuing me a replacement. He gave me the option of a rapid one or the normal replacement, I opted for a rapid replacement. He tells me that they will send a new nook to me and I have to return mine within 14 days. And if I don't, they will charge my card, but if for whatever reason they receive my defective nook after 14 days, they will reverse the charge. I have a few questions: 1) I remember him saying something about a shipping label (?) so that I would not have to pay for shipping, but obviously this is not going to work from where I am, but out of curiosity, how do they send it? All I received was an email from B&N with my RMA number. 2) What do I have to include in the package? Just the nook or the whole box + the charger, accessories etc. 3) Will they mind if the country of origin is Singapore? Hehe ![]() Any help is appreciated! ![]() |

i would say that you have to include everything in the package, if they are sending you a brand new Nook then you're not to keep anything of the old one. They dont' mind that it comes from Singapore, but they will not post it to Singapore, You must give them a US address to post the return Nook to-just use your Borderlinx again. Unless the customer services agent told you he'll ship the replacement one to Singpore.
IF you don't have a shipping label i'd contact Barnes and Noble again and ask for the return address. |

Thank you for replying!
![]() My main concern right now is whether I need to send the nook together with the original packaging or should I just send the nook as-is. The reason why I'm asking this is because if I send the nook alone, shipping will cost me ~$30 but if I have to send it together with the original packaging (which has some heavy hardened plastic that holds the nook), it'll set me back around ~$50 >_< |

When I returned from US, I just put it in another old box and mailed it.
I told them I threw away the original packaging and they told me to bubble wrap it and send in any box. But make sure to put the cables too & don't forget to remove the external sd card. They also sent me a UPS shipping label in email for shipping. I printed it out and gave it to the UPS delivery guy and didn't pay anything. But for you, it may not be useful. |
