Calibre 0.7.13 not fining my NEW nook
Just bought a new nook and installed the 1.4 update. Calibre can't find it even after repairing 0.7.13 on a reinstall.

here's the device debug screen which appears as if the nook didn't assign a drive number to the nook (?!?).

This is NOT a soft rooted nook but a brand new out of the box nook I bought today.

That debug output doesn't make sense, try a reboot of your computer.

rebooted PC again
uninstalled calibre 0.7.13
re-installed calibre 0.7.13

results the same - doesn't show a device and the output screen is virtually identical to above

rebooted PC again
uninstalled calibre 0.7.13
installed calibre 0.7.12

same results as above

Tried having the nook plugged into the usb and then loading calibre - same result
Tried loading calibre and then plugging the nook into the usb - same result
Tried other usb connections - same result

This happens on the brand new nook I purchased and on my wife's nook which was fine until today. Now neither of them are recognized.

Thoughts. ideas, suggestions??

Solution:

Uninstalled Calibre 0.7.12
REBOOT
Install Calibre 0.7.12

recognized!

Now...why did that work when nothing else did??

Installed the latest version of Calibre and now my nook cannot be found once again with the same type of output I got before from the device debugger.

I have rebooted, uninstalled calibre/rebooted/re-installed calibre and neither solution worked this time.

My problem solving background tells me that this is starting to look like a trend - at least as far as the nooks I own are concerned.
