Kindle Delivery Question

Hello, after looking at so many e-readers, I decided to buy Kindle 3 for myself as birthday gift However, I had never buy anything in Amazon, and I'm not living in US. I just wonder if they will call me during the delivery, as my working premise is not allowed to enter, and I have to go downstairs to pick it up. So if they don't call me, I will have to find someone else at home to pick up for me during office hours.

Thanks a lot for your help.

By the way, Amazon is doing a great job this time, with such a great e-reader at this price.

That's not a question for Amazon, it's a question for whatever delivery service is used in your country. Amazon can’t control what they do. I hope you can work it out. Maybe the people at your front door or delivery entrance can call you.

In my country the Kindle was delivered by the FedEx affiliate. Unfortunately, here they man their vehicles with rejects from the Intellectual Reserve Units. Hence, I have to be on guard all day long or they will pass me by. Luckily the FedEx site provide good package tracking, so I know fairly well when they are supposed to arrive.

better than me... usually they will pretend to ring a door bell ( even when i'm at home ) and slot a note to request that i come to their post office to collect personally on a working day !

Hope that in Hong Kong they won't do the same to me. Thanks a lot.

Mine was left at my apartment management office. Although they did text me to "please collect your package at *****"

I think it depends on the company that delivers the package.

DHL deliver to Australia, and yesterday came home to find the delivery man had been and had hidden the two wall chargers (for the K3, sent separately to the kindle) near the front door. I was ok with that but plan to haunt home when I can see that the kindle is out for delivery. I thought he would have left a card! That gives you a reference number and you can go and collect it from the depot.
