I was given details of this site from someone posting at http://www.secularcafe.org/.

I haven't yet got an ebook reader but have been contemplating it for about a year.At the moment I am torn between a dedicated reader and a tablet computer. I can see advantages and disadvantages in both. I am in no rush, however, and prepared to wait another year if necessary for technology to evolve.

In general I am a fan of the idea that one lump to cart around is better than two, which is the main thing that drives me in the tablet direction, since a tablet could presumably do instead of a reader + notebook/laptop. Some years back it was a great relief to replace phone + PDA with a smartphone.

Hi and welcome to MR DMB

We should be able to see a lot of new Tablets during the next couple of months.

For me the two most promising at the moment is the Lattice by Innoversal and the Adam by NotionInk both comes with the highly awaited Pixel QI screen that incorporates the best of two worlds where you can switch between a reading mode and a regular LCD mode.

A little more info on the QI. The QI will certainly not kill the E-ink screen but it will provide a middle path between the regular LCD and the E-ink.

I won't be buying an iPad, but I'll probably buy myself a Kindle for Christmas. In the meantime, I want to pick up as much impartial advice as I can from the members at this forum.

I have succumbed and ordered a Kindle 3. I think I'll wait to decide about iPads until some time next year.
