How many ebooks you buy each month?

I know that many people don't buy books and read only classic books available for free... but it is interesting how many ebooks people buy from different websites like Amazon, B&N, Borders, eBooks.com, Fictionwise etc.

I'm weighing in with 1-2 per month now, but before Fictionwise hit the skids I was buying a lot more than that.

3-5 a month. Most of them are from Amazon, sometimes Fictionwise, and I just bought my first book from Smashwords.

I buy 1-2 ebooks per month, and read 8-10 ebooks per month. I'm reading a lot of PD books, and non-PD ebooks I've had around in PDF for a while, but haven't gotten around to reading.

I buy an average of about 3 per month, but I usually buy them in one big bunch. I bought a dozen books two months ago and am still reading through the virtual pile.

I buy the monthly books from Baen and some SciFi magazines from Fictionwise.

I voted 0. I used to buy around 4 books a month. That stopped last April, when it got harder and harder to find the books I wanted from FictionWise. I've not yet found a replacement shop. Luckily, I have a big backlog of books I want to read...

I said 3-5, but I download free ones in addition to those. I'm sure I have enough books on my Reader to last at least a year but for whatever reason I keep downloading more!

I think it averages out to 2 paid purchases per month.

I tend to wait for sales or deep discount coupons such as Fictionwise and Smashwords have from time to time, and then splurge by getting stuff I've had my eye on in a big batch, so my actual buying patterns are in irregular surges.

I'm pretty picky about what I actually shell out money for, and still prefer paper formats for my favourite "keeper" authors and non-fiction in general.

If we count those time-limited promo freebies, then it's much more regular, because I "buy" those almost indiscriminately on the off chance there'll be something in one of the stories that I like or some reference thing I'll find useful.

But I think my download/read ratio for those is something like 100:1. Maybe even less.

I have such a backlog I don't buy much anymore, however, for the month of July I brought a 4 comic book series at 1.99 each on my iPad.
