Question about import tax for iliad in US
1 x iLiad e-reader $699.00
1 x iLiad Travel Hub $35.43 Sub-Total: $734.43 Zone Rates, First Item, Plus Additional Items ((EUR32.02 first item, EUR3.00 each additional item)): $43.75 Total: $778.18 I try to buy iliad. But I am worried about custom tax. Please, tell me how much I will pay and how I can pay it. Last edited by harpum; 01-04-2007 at 12:20 AM. |

Sorry, I don't know abot the US custom.
But I want to ask, why do you want to buy the travel hub? It's included in the basic package. |

And I just want to make a tool to charge directly by using some part of travel hub. |

From my experience, Customs issues were dealt with by the carrier (UPS). If you don't want to deal with directly importing the iLiad, you could go through the authorized dealer in the US: Ereader Outfitters
Hope that helps. |

My iLiad arrived with customs duties paid.
iRex said they'd pay for the return of my 2nd defective iLiad but I just got a bill from UPS detailing the transport, customs and penalty fees (for the rejected billing to the iRex UPS account.) So who knows? I'm sure we'll eventually get this rectified but with no compensation to me for the time and trouble they've caused me. |

Right now UPS wants me to cough up a little over $100 for returning the iLiad to iRex for exchange at the beginning of September (sort of a 3 month old surprise.) I'm hoping I'm not going to regret ordering their deluxe case for the iLiad. :-( |

43.75(irex) vs 64.54(us local website)
Shipping cost was different. I guess us website add some custom fee. I am not sure. If I get some answer from us website, I will post it as soon as possible. Thanks. Last edited by harpum; 01-05-2007 at 03:44 AM. |
