Where's the Most Extreme Place You've Done It?

You know...READ.

Since this is the mobileread forums, I want to know exactly how extreme people are getting with their mobile-reading. Where's the craziest place you've ever read? Here are mine:

During a Job Interview: The guy picked up the phone and started jabbing away, what was I supposed to do? I mean, he even said "this'll be a while." I didn't end up getting the job, but I'll swear to my dying day it wasn't because I picked up my kindle instead of staring at him like an idiot.

While Getting a Speeding Ticket: I have what some might call a lead foot. It got a little out of hand one day and so I received a visit from a law enforcement officer. After chatting pleasantly (P.S. never answer the question how fast you were going because that's an admission of guilt), he went back to his patrol car to do his business. There was no hesitation...I went right for the kindle.

Ok, so what've you got?

While escaping from a burning building. Okay, so the fire was a minor one and I was just responding to the alarm, but still there were fire engines and everything

Wow, that's still impressive though! I bet someone would look really cool scoffing at a fire by doing a little reading.

I bet it does. You don't have any problems reading while walking though? That's something I don't think I'll ever be able to do.

I've read while:

walking into a tree branch
walking into a telephone pole
walking into a 6 ft deep excavation
taking the elevator up and down the Eiffel Tower.

I've also read in a total of 10 airports.

I wouldn't actually have read if I thought the fire was serious. I was just in the middle of an "unputdownable" book and I initially thought the alarm was a drill.

This made me laugh. I recommend you refrain from reading while driving!

I read while walking and even hiking quite often. especially when I have the dog. ALWAYS in airports and on planes.

probably on ski lifts and actually while skiing. sometimes I have to lead a bunch of rather inter-mediate rather slow skiers across the mountain. I'll ski slow and read, or get ahead where they can see me and just stand there and read while waiting for everyone

Here's a question - what the heck were you doing taking the Kindle with you on a job interview?? I would venture that perhaps reading the Kindle did, in fact, contribute to your not getting the job. Were you also chewing a gum and wearing a branded T-shirt that said "don't give a fcuk"?

Umm... in the toilet...

Unfortunately, it does result in my spending an inordinate amount of time in there...

I considered specifying why I had it with me. It was sitting in my briefcase, which was already open in the chair beside me. Maybe it did have an impact, but I was reading Then We Came to the End at the time, so I still think I made the right decision.

On the gurney, waiting to go into heart surgury. It was just an angioplasty and I'll be honest-- I don't remember what book it was.

It wasn't reading, but my 6 year old son used my Sony Touch to draw pictures while the nurse was taping the sensors for an EEG test to his head.
