Hello from Montpellier + Protected Page error revisited (sorry!)

Hi,

I'm a retired research scientist currently in sunny Montpellier, France, where I live for half the year, dividing my time between here and Norwich, UK (it's a hard life!). Own a Sony PRS600, as does my wife, and we're generally very pleased with our choices.

However...

Sorry to revisit this topic but I'm receiving the same 'protected page' error on my Sony PRS600 on two borrowed epub items. I've tried all the suggested solutions (removing all pdf files, then re-trying), plus I've deauthorised my Reader, uninstalled the ADE software, reinstalled and reauthorised, plus I've tried copying directly to an SD card, all to no avail. The infuriating thing is I can open the books on my computer directly from the Reader, it's when I try to use the Reader on its own that the error appears.

Amicalement,

Fred

Hello Fred and welcome to MobileRead. Geoff has made a good suggestion, you are much more likely to get your answer at the links he has provided.

Thanks for the suggestions - I eventually found the solution was to load the Reader with only one borrowed book at a time (which is a bit self-defeating but at least I can read them now!).

P.S. NeilMarr, we were near your part of France last week (visited the villa Ephrussi)

Perhaps a stupid question but is your reader 'authorised' to read these books - i.e. with the correct PID ?

Yep, it's authorised; I can read the books if I load them individually - the Reader just appears to have problems if more than one ePub book is loaded.

***NeilMarr, we were near your part of France last week***

Gosh, I'm so sorry we missed you this trip, Fred. By way of apology, pop into the bookstore section of our publishing site (linked below) and just email me with any two or three titles that catch your eye and your preferred digital format. I'd be happy to send them over with our compliments to help see you through what's set to be a pretty hot and sweaty summer in our neck of the woods.

Best wishes. Neil -- that's ntmarrATbewrite.net but use the @ sign, of course. N

Many thanks Neil, will do.

I see your region, like ours, is on Yellow alert because of the heat - I pity the poor souls experiencing Orange alert (Canicule) status.

We're returning to the UK for August but it looks like becoming almost as hot there!

Yeah, Fred. Folks like me with heart conditions have been medically advised to take plenty liquid. I've been out of my skull for a week so far ... but that's OK because it's on doctors' orders. Look forward to hearing from you. Salut. Neil
