Classic MyBooks app not showing all Calibre tags

I softrooted my Nook to v1.4 and then sideloaded most of my Calibre (v0.7.2) library.

In MyBooks (v0.0.9), when I select Show, I get a list that includes some, but not all of the Calibre tags, and also includes tags that I don't use in Calibre. And even for the Calibre tags it does show, selecting that tag gives only a partial list of all the books I have under that tag in Calibre.

Any suggestions?

Thank you for pointing me to that fantastic feature! For the last 4 days I simply didn't see it (had a lot to read...)!

I transferred some more books to the nook with calibre and had my problems with the "Show", too.

First impression: Be careful when using "Author" + any tag, both will sum up.
Second: Those unknown tags shown in the list are "series". In the beginning it's a little confusing, but once you know, it's helpful.

I don't have any author names as tags.

What do you mean by series? In the Show list, I have the following tags that are NOT among my Calibre tags: 'custom', 'economics', 'epub', 'history', 'pdf', 'politics', 'world'. I imagine the MyBooks app is picking these labels up from somewhere in the metadata.

I got my Nook last December and softrooted immediately. Got same problem as you. Some of the tags appear, others simply do not. I spent hours carefully tagging my 70+ "test" books in Calibre -- but despite all my efforts I still get some tags appearing to sort and others seem lost.

In addition, I too experienced a sudden rush of new tags - most of which I never used or instigated. I asked for help on this forum, but it didn't seem as if anyone else was experiencing problem.

I finally gave up. I don't use the tags at all b/c they are so inconsistent.

In the Show list there are tags as provided in the book's metadata such as "general", "economics" + "history". I'm sure there must be books with these tags, somewhere.... You can use calibre to search for these and correct the metadata.

["epub" is a container such as a *.zip-file. Just rename it and you will be able to open it. There should be a file named "content.opf" or "metadat.opf" which contains the metadata, e. g.
<dc:subject>Non-Fiction</dc:subject>
<dc:subject>History</dc:subject>]

The Show list also displays any metadata for collections/series, e.g.
<dc:series>Sharpe</dc:series>
<meta name="calibre:series_index" content="14"/>

"epub", ""pdf" are the file types of your documents. So if you have different books by an author you can first choose "Author" and then only his epub-books.

This is my point - these items are NOT in the tag fields for any of my books in Calibre.

I understand this. But is it default behavior for the MyBooks app to show the file type in the "Show" list even though 'epub', 'pdf', etc., are NOT tags I use in Calibre?
