iPhone Pictures on iPhone 4

When I take pictures with my iPhone 4, the pictures automatically get added to an album called "Camera Roll". When I view them, they don't auto-rotate if I turn the iPhone from portrait to landscape orientation.

When I view pictures on my iPad, the picture changes orientation with the iPad. Does the iPhone not do this?

They auto-rotate on mine. Are you sure you don't have the rotation lock set?

Sorry for the silly question, but where is that? Other things rotate - it's just pictures that don't.

Double-tap the home button, swipe to reveal the iPod controls, and the lock button is on the left.

It has the same icon as on the iPad with it's rotation lock, so I doubt you'd have missed it in the status bar though.

That said, I'm having no problems getting the photo app to recognize rotation.

No joy, unfortunately. Other things rotate - eg, iBooks and Safari - but photos don't. No big deal, just wondering why not!

According to some posts at the Apple support forum the solution is to do a simple reset..... worth a try as it fixed the problem for them......

Reset works for only one photo rotation, then it is back to stationary. Same with turning off the iPhone. Everything else rotates.

Since I reset mine it's stayed working OK.
