PRS-505 Screen says no battery & and has split. * Image Attached"

Okaay, I have no idea why this has happened, but I placeed my Sony Reader PRS-505 in my bag, and I had about 2 bars of battery, and when I removed it this afternoon, this was on my screen:

I have no idea what has happened or how to fix it, but if anyone has any idea's, that would be brilliant; thankyou!

Odd message, try the various forms of reset included in the wiki and see if that helps.

If it doest then i'm pretty sure its a broken screen controller and only Sony can fix that, you'd have to send it in for repairs.

As a last ditch attempt, if you cant send it in for repairs, I would open up the 505 and unplug the battery to see if that fixes it.

Any chance it could've gotten banged around in the bag or something else placed on top of the bag?

What I find strange is that it says "No battery" instead of "Low battery"

Mine's done that after sitting around unused for an extended period, the message going away (and screen going back to normal) after a good long charge. Never had it happen kind of all of the sudden like you describe.

Well, examining upper left corner of your photo one could clearly see, that your reader was physically damaged...
