E Ink is Great for Those of Us With Eye Floaters
One of my most positive experiences of using an E Ink screen is not having those annoying eye floaters popping into my vision when reading on it. This happens all the time when I am looking at a LCD screen. The E Ink makes reading much more pleasurable than reading on my computer monitor. Just thought I'd share.

Actually that is a good point. I have an annoying floater in my right eye that does not make an appearance whilst reading my Sony reader.

That would then also apply to the "E-Paper" non-backlit monochrome reflective LCD
of the Jetbook and Jetbook Lite. Luck; Ken |

I never have floater problems with my LCD devices, perhaps because I keep the backlight low. (The view through a microscope eyepiece, on the other hand, reminds me of a bowl of soup. )

Do floaters also appear less often when you read printed material compared to LCD? Compared to e-Ink?

I never really thought about it, but you're right. I don't notice eye floaters when reading the Aluratek Libre.

But isn't there a contrast between the letters and the screen they're on? Wouldn't that make floaters visible? You can't imagine how many times I've tried to swat my floaters away, thinking they were gnats. If I didn't have to do that anymore, it would be great.

Regarding LCD versus hard copy, I don't notice any difference. But my Zod has a very gray screen at its usual 40% brightness level. |
