I don't know if there are hardware constraints, but it would be nice if Open Source audio codecs like Ogg Vorbis and FLAC were to be implemented.

It would also be in line with OpenInkpot being Open Source firmware.

As an aside, does anyone know if playing of audio files will be implemented on the Hanlin V3 for the 0.3 release?

The MP3 decoder driver is ticket #4 and is two years old now. It is also has a completion milestone of "bluesky", so that does not hold out a lot of hope for a 0.3 release.
