iriver hanging, Im helpless....

Hello,

I have had my iriver since January and read it every night, I was reading a purchased novel (pg 76 of 306) the other day and my device crashed. The screen has been displaying the same page for 4 Days now, there is nothing I can do, Press the reset button for 1 minute, keep the on/off toggle pressed for a minute, pop the SD card in and out, plug the iriver in to a laptop, press all the buttons at once, cry, pray, nothing I do changes the display.

Any ideas what I can do to make it come back to life?

(It was/is running firmware version 1.61, the book I was reading was an Adobe DRMed thing)

either remove the battery if you can (and then plug it back in after 30 seconds or so) or run it down completely (which may be difficult to do) and then plug it into the charger.

When mine freezes I connect it to laptop. It resets and starts charging.

last time i have a similar problem
i solved simply connecting to pc (the pc dont see the reader) and wait 10-15 minutes
then press the startup button;
the problem in my case was due to discharge battery

Good news!

I made a last ditch attempt at getting the Story to respond before calling Iriver.

Plugged it into my laptop and it sprang to life

I have had it plugged in for hours before, dont know why this time was special.
