Color ereader & pics

Does anybody know if a color ereader (the JE100, for instance) will display color photographs which are part of a book? Within a cookbook, for instance; or a biography with color pics?

Elonex is bringing one out .It will also have wireless with it and is being priced at around £99.00 . I saw it at the london Book fair

And is this the only one, out of all the color ereaders, anyone? What would be the point of a color ereader that doesn't display color pictures within the book, I'm wondering?

The JE-100 and 200 don't, for instance?

I googled and found it's supposed to come out mid-May, at around 152 USD.

Boy, if this actually does display color pictures within the book at that price, it's a really good find.

The Jointech JE100 and JE200 readers do display color pictures in ePub ebooks using ZuluReader for WinCE which you can get here.

The Elonex reader looks awesome

Looks like it will be an LCD screen. Hopefully they won't put a mirror effect screen on it like seems to be the vogue in laptops these days.

From what I remember seeing it has a mirror effect screen like what is found on laptops and blackberries.

The new Elonex was supposed to be out the middle of May. I sent them an email asking about a release date but so far, weeks later, no reply. =/

A little bird told me it's running late but will be well worth the wait. I might be speaking to someone who has seen a proto of the device in a few weeks.

It's not about the device but the e-book file itself.

It's possible to create an e-book (.epub format) file with either black and white or color images.

That's why we recommend to our authors to use color (unless they're going for some artistic effect by using b&w), since the monochrome reader devices (Kindle, Nook, Sony, etc.) will display them in gray-scale but the color devices will show them in full color.

The color photos in "Decision Points" are stunning, much better than the photos I saw in the actual book. I use a Pandigital reader.
