I have no experience with this, but here in the Sony Reader Dev Corner subforum there is a Thread about Unicode Font support without flashing.

Make sure to read through the threads so you are familiar with possible problems and their solutions. Also, before beginning, make sure you know which firmware you have on the Reader.

I'd expect PRS+ installer to work if you extract it into internal memory. Not sure about igorsk's flasher, but it's easily fixable.
