PRS-600 Maths with PRS?

Hi everyone,

i have the prs-600 and i mostly study my university books wich contain math formulas with greek signs (alpha, sigma, delta and ...)
and i have these problems :
1. the zoom function doesnt work with pages that contain multiple pics
2. on the pages that the zoom works, the greeks letters are showed wring like delta is shown " i! " or some times like (")

its really bothering me and i cant read with it...i checked it on computer...if i copy the text from the adobe reader to microsoft word the signs are shown just like when i use the zoom function on my reader...

can some one help me with this?
does anyone else have this problem?

Mathematics isn't a problem limited to the PRS-600 but indeed any device that uses EPUB format files (or LRF format for that matter).
Your font problems sound like the fonts required aren't embedded in the document. They need to be embedded.
With PDFs, presumably Adobe Acrobat can be used to embed the required fonts.

Hi,

Im already using PDF and embeding the fonts to it.
its not EPUB

if the pdf has embedded fonts the reader displays them well

zooming of "Elementary Linear Algebra" by Anton and "Early Transcendentals Calculus" 6e by James Stewart both work fine as pdfs

Do you zoom like "zoom and pan" or are you zooming "S,M,X,XL"?
Zoome and pan should work.

Mike, I use the S,M,L,XL,XXL and it doesn't work properly, zoom and pan works well but its a pain that i have to move the page all the time...

Jessie, did u convert the files to PDF or it was originally a PDF?
mine were scanned books and i used adobe Acrobat's OCR to convert them to text DPFs...

can u send me sample that works?

Yes, if you use the reflow zoom (S,M,L,...), then the reader reformats the text to display it in a bigger size font. So it's no wonder the formatting gets messed up. The only other thing I could think of to maintain formulas (besides zoom and pan, which I use) would be to reformat the whole document so that the parts you need completely fit on one "display-page".
