Is there a way to put bookmarks in individual books in the Calibre reader?
I have a series I have been following since day 1 which is at about 30 books now. I had bought the most recent ones as they came out and I took advantage of a recent Fictionwise sale to acquire ALL the earlier ones. I am re-reading them---they are fast reads and quite addictive---and am finding it really interesting, with the hindsight of book 3-, to go back and read the parts like where a key character is initially introduced. Is there an easy way, perhaps using the Calibre reader, to bookmark these sections for future reference, so I can find all these key moments later on?

Thank you, that did the trick. I am assuming it gets saved somehow in the book's metadata? If I am backing up my whole library on Dropbox, I should be fine?

If the files are epub the bookmarks will be stored in the file itself.

library level bookmarks
Is there a way to view/search bookmarks at library level instead of book level? IE: locate bookmarks with a specific string in their title, in any book in library.

There is no UI for it, but you could read the file "iterator.pickle" in your calibre configuration directory. It will show all bookmarks for any ebook file you have opened (it is not bound to a specific library).
