sony prs600:I cant select any of the items on the screen
Hi, I just cant select any of the items on the screen of the sony prs600, not with my fingers or with the provided stylus, the reader is not frozen because the key are working perfectly, but suddenly I just cant select any of the items on the screen, could anybody tell me how to fix it?

I've read about others with the same problem on this forum, and in that case there was some dirt between the border and the screen that pressed on the touchscreen. This caused the touchscreen to think that it's already pressed, and thus won't register any more touches. So check if there's any dirt under the border along the screen.
Of course, it's always possible that the touchscreen is broken, in which case you should contact Sony for a replacement. |

yes I tried to make a reset several times, it resets but keeps the same.
I already checked if is there any dirt between the border and the screen but I dont see any of it |

Maybe try a toothpick to clean the border. There's possibly some dirt under the rim that can't be seen.

worth a try. FWIW you could try doing a reset and recalibrate the touchpad, see if that helps.
BTW be very careful when cleaning, the touch screen "front" is fragile and easily torn if you use something too sharp such as a metal pin. What you don't want to do is get something else wedged in the gap... -A Last edited by conundrum; 04-03-2010 at 03:32 PM. |
