Cheap Iliad??

Has anyone purchase their Iliad from here..

http://www.ipmart.com/main/product/i...hp?prod=105512

Sounds like a cheap price. Shipping from China.

Are they made in China?

As far as I know, all iRex units are manufactured in the Netherlands (spinoff of Philips).
What's not quite clear: Does the "1" in "iLiad-1" imply 1st generation? iLiad V2 is out for about 18months.....
It's definitely a good price (too good?). Usually, it's still € 599. I'd simply mail iRex, whether this is an official retailer and trustworthy. Wouldn't be the first fake from China...

It's a first edition for sure. The connect button doesn't have the @-like sign on it.
iLiad's have only been made in Taiwan and Philippines, never in China.

iLiad V1

iLiad V2 did replace V1 about 18 months (maybe even 2 years ago already) ago.
V2 has a bigger battery and slightly different housing. Even on V2, quite a few users claim too short battery life (some say, only 12 hours). I've never had V1, but from what I hear I'd never recommend it.
And then it's not cheap enough.
So, given pauli's observation, I wouldn't go for it.

I knew it was probably too good to be true.

I have email the retailer with questions, but I am nervous about the authenticity.

I also found the silver (book edition) at $210 from indonesia. Sounded great until I discovered you had to buy 100 units.

I don't see the point in purchasing this iliad from china for $539. You can purchase DR800SG from CarToys for $400 plus about $50 service, shipping and handling fee of Shipito.

I've gotten my iLiad v2 from the Dutch equivalent of Ebay. It's like I bought a new one for half the price. Idle battery-life is still 15 hrs. So if you really want an iLiad you might want to consider a second hand one. A lot of readers with better screen technology and software will be released within a year anyway.

Is this product the Iliad V2? or the Iliad Book edition?
The picture looks like the V2 being black whereas the book edition is silver.
Do you get a full manufacturers warranty on this product?
Is this product made in China?
Thanks
So I think I will give it a miss

Just a comment...

They aren't made in China, but there is a special version of the iLiad that is sold in China. I believe it runs a different firmware though and has a slightly different model number. This may be what they're talking about when they say it is "made in China".

The Chinese versions do not have a mobipocket reader installed
