End of September is Nigh

It just occurred to me it's the last work day in september, and

1 - 2.7 was "planned" for end of september,
2 - the "consumer version" of the Iliad with extended functionality was originally announced for september

Plus the Sony Reader started shipping, and it has all the software/bookstore features that were announced for the Iliad.

So I guess something has to happen today. (I guess it will be the announcement of a georgeous plan with release date December '06; I just don't know what the plan will be )

For grins, I pressed the connect button this morning and nothing came down. (They had 2.6.1 out for download for 2 weeks before they eMailed me.)

Does anyone know if they had any 'beta' testers sign up on 2.7? I would have but all I could offer at best was comments on what wasn't working - I know nothing about linux so didn't qualify as the type of 'expert' they were looking for.

We know this already: second half of month is last day of month or first weeks of next month.

This is an advantage of a major like Sony. Irex is alone, can't offer content.

The beta-test hasnt's started yet, so there is nobody here yet who has any version newer than 2.6.1

I don't know when 2.7 will arrive, but I suppose we'll all get it at the same time and beta-test will start fro 2.8 or later...

After the announcement in the iRex forum, a definite yes. Unless it is November.
