help please re iriver story for a non computer literate idiot
Hi
 I'm new & need help. My son has bought me an iriver story for my 50 birthday & I don't know how to get books onto it!!!!!!!!! Thats why I have joined here after much searching on internet. I'm not v computer literate but can get by on internet with what I know. I've managed to download an adobe book to computer but when I think I've transferred it to iriver story it says file failed to open. Not good at doing files. Thought I was improving when I managed to get audiobook onto ipod!!!!!!!!!! My son is trying to update me with this book reader so that I don't have to carry so many books when I travel! Thanks in advance for any advice chinababe  :

forgot to mention that I have authorised both my computer & story with the adobe site. Sorry for sounding so stupid! |

Hi, if your files are ePUB/PDF with DRM, try opening the books with Adobe Digital Edition software. Then transfer them over to your Story from within the ADE software.

Thanks. I've got them in ADE but not sure how to transfer them. On the iriver it looks like they have transferred but when I try to open them it just says "failed to open"

Are you using firmware v1.61? The earlier ones do having some problem opening DRM files.

No idea what firmware is on it! Might have to find a young person to sort me out. Thanks for advice.

Chinababe,
On your PC, go to http://www.iriver.com/index.asp Click on the SUPPORT Link Next, Click on the DOWNLOADS Link Next, Select the iRiver Story Firmware 1.61 Follow the instructions for downloading the firmware file into your reader. Also, make sure you set the date & time on your reader correctly. Hope this helps. |
