News content for Sony Reader
I wonder if anyone's read about the availability of periodical content (newspapers, magazines, journals) to be made available in Sony Reader compatible format.
I love the e-reader concept for books, but, I also am incredibly optimistic about the chance to download my daily newspapers, weekly magazines, etc. and have them at my fingertips. The NY Times' recent beta release of desktop reader software gets it close for tablets, etc., but wonder if e-reader versions are planned imminently. s |

I don't believe there are any current plans for additional content beyond what is available in the selected RSS feeds. I'd be surprised if that doesn't include some popular newspapers and magazines, but I haven't seen the initial list.
There's always the possibility that someone will code something to make it easy to transfer over your favorite content snipped from the web and RSS feeds. Something like a new version of Sunrise is what I'm really hoping for. (https://www.mobileread.com/forums/showthread.php?t=2815) Plus, there's always the possibility that something else is in the works that Sony isn't able to talk about yet. |

I asked them this question, and the response was that no there's nothing now, but that they're open to it if any providers decide they want to, um provide it.

FYI: PRWeb newswire is publishing news releases in eBook format as pointed out here (https://www.mobileread.com/forums/showthread.php?t=8818). They are available for free by industry/topic category here --> http://www.prweb.com/newsbycategory/index.htm .
