Does Kindle DX read Word files?
HI,
I am thinking of buying large screended Ebook reader like Kindle DX. Can some one tell me if this device reads Microsoft Word files? How do I get my files from my PC onto Kindle dx? Does this device reformat files into its own format? Thanks for the answers. Raj |

Unfortunately, Kindle doesn't read .Doc or .Rtf files, so you will have to convert them to its native format Mobi/Prc, or to PDF. If your files contain mostly text the result will look nice.
Instead of converting to Mobi/Prc I prefer to use PDF, change the page size in Microsoft Word to A5, thin margins, a font without sheriffs sized 12-14. That's because Mobi/Prc are somehow (in my opinion) limited to HTML format. You can transfer your files with a USB cable connected to your computer. Kindle doesn't change any file you save in it. If it's a format it knows, it will be displayed. |
