HTMLDOC makes nice PDF for iLiad
I've been kicking around the HTMLDOC product from ESP and I'm pretty impressed with it so far.
It really understands going from HTML to an ebook. Plus the "Universal" page size fits very nicely on the iLiad's screen. http://www.easysw.com/htmldoc/ I've also been very impressed with its Table of Contents that it provides for each document. It has made navigating multi-thousand page documents much better on the iLiad (on 2.6.1 where links work again.) The font selection is a little limited but if you've got some HTML you want to read on the iLiad I believe the results are far superior to using minimo on the iLiad, and you certainly don't have to sweat all the HTML tagging and manifest.xml generation pain. I suspect that it would do a nice job on comic books, so long as you can throw an HTML shell around the images... 21 day demo license, $69 for a full license. Or if you want, some form of it is available as open source. |

I've been pretty impressed with the open source version -- it's been useful at manybooks.net and also at my day job, where we use it to create PDF versions of online database info.

Tested the trial and it worked very well. It's a nice little tool, alas, $69 is more than I would normally pay for shareware. But it's probably worth the price for those who have lots of files to convert for the iLiad.

bit of tinkering with the command line version is fine, i compiled a cygwin version (not as stable as the linux version though)

I've been feeding Baen ZIP'd HTML ebooks into HTMLDOC and so far ... ain't so bad.
So far its the easiest way I've found to make a decent PDF out of Baen content for the iLiad. |
