Can one erase her/his own membership?

I saw how to join in, but not out to disjoin out.

It is easily possible to ask a moderator to remove your account but almost nobody requests this since the post still remain and simply not visiting any longer accomplishes the same thing. Even with an account you are not required to post!

As silly as it may seem, I am concerned in being removed from the list of members if I wish so.

Were you asking about MobileRead, or the Social Forums, such as Ministry of Unutterable Silliness?

The social forums can be exited by clicking the option that comes up to exit forum. That drops you off the list.

Edit: On the main page of each Social Forum, there is a blue bar about a third of the way down. There is a hotspot that says, "Exit Group." Clicking on that removes you from the group.

Thank you very much.This is exactly what I was looking for: I have not yet joined a social forum and I did not want to join one without knowing the escape route.

On the other hand, there is no escape route from the Lounge. It sucks you in and never lets you go.
