No SD card!!!

After 2 months of using EZ Reader Pocket Pro I get message “no sd card” (2GB Kingston get with reader). I tested with different SD cards from different manufacturers but no success. The card is properly inserted, and it falls in correctly, and it is locked in the position.
Any help appreciated

I have two suggestions;

(1) have you turn off/on the PP?
(2) what happens if you have the SD card in the PP and plug it into your computer, does both the internal storage and SD card come up as a drive letter or only the internal storage?

(1) YES
(2) Both the internal storage and SD card come up as a drive letter but when I click on SD card drive letter (Please insert a disk into Removable).
Even w/o SD card both drive letter come up.

When you insert the SD card does the activity light flicker?

An could some lint have gotten into the slot, which may cause any of the fingers to not make contact.

Did you test SD card other then in PP?

Might be a bit far fetched, but you could try reloading the firmware if nothing else seems to fix it.

Then if that doesn't work, you could send it to Astak for a repair.

All the suggestions here are good ones. My feeling is the card is either corrupted (try a new card or try your card in another device) OR lint has gotten in near the fingers (use a magnifying glass and take a long hard look with the SD card slot above your head and facing down).

All through 2 months everything was ok.

System of SD card is FAT32.

I tested with 4 different SD cards from different manufacturers.

I try cards in PC and digital camera working ok.

I vacuum to suck up SD card slot.

I use a magnifying glass and take a look with the SD card slot

and I find nothing unusual

And how is one to reload firmware with a malfunctioning SD Slot

IDK, which is why I said "far fetched".

Too bad we can't trick it by uploading it to the root dir of the PP from the computer USB interface.

Try reformatting the card as FAT16. I had to in order to get it to recognize the firmware update file.

I saw a similar problem on one of my other devices. The way I resolved was to first insert it into a working Windows device and run Chkdsk. It produced some errors which I had not seen previously. The next step was to reformat and try again.

Once I ran through that I avoided inserting in my PC again and have done everything from that device.

During the upgrade to the latest firmware I did see something similar and I resolved by completely shutting down the PP and rebooting from scratch.

I think the point of what everyone is saying is for some reason the OS is not recognizing the card (bad and needs reformatting) or is not mounting the card at all (need a reboot).
