Laptop Magazine reviews the Daily Edition

It's up here.

Spoiler alert: they can't get past the glare on the touch screen.

Of note to me, however, is the attempt at an apples-to-apples comparison. I find it interesting many reviews these days basically set the Kindle/Amazon store as the baseline and compare. Where're the reviews coming from the other direction e.g., the Kindle tried to be a PRS-505 with the added feature of wireless and a keyboard?

I think the article makes the answer to that question quite clear...

"Sony...would become an also-ran in a category it helped pioneer."

You don't take an also-ran and use it as a baseline. That would be like comparing a new music player to a walkman instead of an ipod.

I think in this case it'd be more like bashing an iPod Classic for not having a touchscreen like the iPod Touch: "what, no touchscreen? These iPods could have been great. Too bad."

Overall it was not a bad review, I'd be interested in knowing what they were doing with that gave them such low battery life. I assume they were doing a lot of downloading - I don't download much at all and get well over 2 weeks on a charge.

While they did say the screen was less clear compared to others they also said that it was still crisp and clear, except in low light, which is true to some degree for all readers.

And I like that the additional text on the page helped them stay immersed in the book.
