This is the first 6″ e-reader with a capacitive touch screen, it enables it to be much more compact than the Kindle as text input can be done on the touch screen. Although this is an early prototype demonstrated by Sagem Wireless at Mobile World Congress. The feature of using a capacitive touch screen on the e-reader does not remove from the readability of the screen and allows for finger touch screen input through the interfaces. A capacitive stylus input may also be supported. This device will include 3G and WiFi wireless data modems.

The back design is a little shout-out to the Kindle and the icons remind me of the Sonys. Maybe they finally created a child together (the elusive "Kinny".

Well, don't beat me with a stick if I say so, but it is ugly.....Why on earth did they need to do buttons in all shades of ... of all colours.. grey ?

Seems like an OK basic design. Ditch the EPD and make it faster please!

It looks great! It looks thick. You'd think that if it is, indeed, that thick they could put in a standard USB 2 port for external storage. WOW, wouldn't that be something.... imagine the possibilities of connectivity and storage capacities.

Wow pretty functional for a prototype. It also had an accelerometer akin to the KindleDX.

The capacitive touch screen is something that does interest me.

That could be an optical illusion. In the video it looked thinner than the still shot. seems like the screen is very readable.

oh i just noticed the graphic on the screen above. its actually a graphic of the Benq/Qisda design.

So this is probably built on the same platform just different "sagem specific" shell

I also learned today that Qisda- which used to be a part of BenQ - is a subsidiary of AUO.
