ONYX BOOX is already sold in U.S. with immediate delivery

Hi Folks!
As per 25 february 2010 the new eBook reader with WiFi ONYX BOOX 60 is already being sold online in U.S. by ebook reader web store. The price is $375 including leather case, USB cable and AC/DC adapter ( battery charger ). It is also available at Amazon. E-readers are in U.S. and are delivered with 24-48 hours after order confirmation.

Is this exactly the same one that onyxboox.com and dulinsbooks.com says will be shipping on April 2?

Wow it is surprising that anyone have stock right now in the US.

It is exactly the same e-reader and includes full set of accessories. As far as I know other distributors will charge you extra 53$ for these accessories, so the price difference is not so high ( $375 comparing to $352 ) but we can ship the eBook reader just now. As for software it takes 5 minutes approx. to upgrade - simply download from Onyx site to SD card, insert card and all will be done automatically. Anyhow if the price is the point, I will decrease it to $349 for anyone who finds this add and contact me directly with the order to support@ereaders-ebooks.com

Are you mistaken? It looks like Dulin Books is the same (with cover and charger) for $299.

MikeOnyx, pls provide some details about the newer hardware - has the device configuration changed? Is there a way for early adopters who have an older version to get it updated? What will the new European retail price be? And finally when will Onyx Boox owners see the long promised software update or at least an official release of 1.22 which is available on the net, but not on the onyx website?

Many Onyx owners would certainly appreciate some answers to the above, esp those who just recently bought their device!

Actually the only newer hardware is that they've put a small pin sized hole on the top back cover to reset instead of trying to removing the top panel to reset which can sometimes be difficult.

As for the firmware, it does include the new firmware unless by some act of nature something goes wrong and it is still not ready by that time.

Also as for the new European price, that must be decided by free trade and the invisible hand. Our bulk price-line is the same for pretty much everyone.

And yes, all firmware changes will be available for all to download.

That's a useful idea. I think I'll drill a hole in the back cover of my Neo!

What's nice about the current reset is that you can get at the button with the stylus if you need to reset. You'll need something else to reach through the back cover.

I always keep a paperclip in my wallet for such emergencies. Useful for all sorts of things, including pressing deeply-recessed reset buttons!
