Time scales

Hi all.

So I was wondering, the Kindle 2 has been out for a while, and I am thinking about buying one. But, I don't want to buy a Kindle 2 and then find that the next day (not literally) a new one is released.

How long do you think it'll be until the next one is released?

You really like to open a hornets nest don't you.

Just buy the Kindle 2. If a new one comes out you can always sell it. They hold their value pretty well.

But, if I had to guess. I would say not till fall.

(BTW: A new model year of almost EVERY car is coming out this fall. So, don't buy a car this year.

The thing is, as PilotBob points out, there is always going to be a new shiny that you have to do a saving throw against. Amazon's pattern is to start hinting about Mother's Day about Kindle x and then announce in time for Christmas. The cycle was off for the K2, probably because KDX was in the pipe, as well and they didn't want to crowd the field. KInt came out per the usual schedule. So, if you really want this year's shiny object, then pay attention to the rumor mill this summer.
