Question Putting Lyrics In PRS-300?

Greetings e-book readers,
I had a specific question pertaining to the use of song lyrics and the Sony Reader (I own the PRS-300). I was curious to see if being able to put song lyrics onto the Reader would be of use? What I mean by that is for example being able to place an album by U-Melt onto the Reader, create a table of contents, and then have it set up as the album being the "book" and the songs as "chapters". That way when I sit down in a nice peaceful area I have my little Sony Reader with all the lyrics to the music that I have.

Now I know that this could be quite complex, but I figured I would ask.

Happy Reading,
LongDead

It could be done, perhaps in Calibre.... worth the effort? That would be up to you....

Well yes, you just have to create your own ebook, if the contents are lyrics or recipes or your latest novel is up to you!

It's a good opportunity to learn, I recently created my first ebook (a conversion from a paper book, actually) and found it a very rewarding experience.

There are various more or less automatic or manual ways to do it. You might want to have a look at the epub section of the forum, there are lots of tools to create epub files plus tips, tricks, guidelines, anything you might need.

Welcome to MR, by the way

Sorry, I didn't notice it was your first post. Welcome to the forum LongDead! Be sure and check out all the free books here at mobileread https://www.mobileread.com/forums/forumdisplay.php?f=126 that are ready to go for your Sony. You can also look a few forums down from that one and get many ePub books that will also work..... And here is a link to free ebooks from the Sony store http://ebooks.addall.com/sonyfree.html . Be sure to check back on the Sony link as the book content changes. Also Kobo is a great sight for buying books http://www.kobobooks.com/ and is often cheaper than the Sony site. Inkmesh http://www.inkmesh.com is a great search site for free and paid books.

Instead of the Sony software, you might want to check out Calibre http://calibre-ebook.com/ , it's free (donationware) and excellent.

And feel free to ask questions, we like them here...

I probably have to try this with songs and chords for guitar. If the font size isn't too small to read while wearing the instrument, the reader could make up for a good songbook, too.

As another new 300 user, I've been having a lot of fun grabbing info from the web for a walking holiday we're planning and formatting it for the 300 so we can travel light. Some stuff I've just put straight in as text files, some as pdf's (both downloaded and created) some as html converted to ePub by Calibre [if you don't have it download it now!]. I find the html->ePub the most time consuming but gives the best results.

For your purposes, I guess the main thing is how much formatting you want? eg. IF you want lyrics with chords positioned underneath then spacing is obviously more important....

Formatting will be more than important for lyrics with chords and shouldn't be an issue. I'll just have to try whether it's still readable or not.
